I love to read, and I always have. I am a total nerd.
But I also adore fashion, which (shocker!) I am sure you’ve figured out at this point. So reading about style is an awesome way for me to mix up and think about who inspires my look. Right now, I Heart Your Style: How to Define and Refine Your Personal Style by Amanda Brooks has me fascinated. Here are some random tidbits of quotes and takeaways I’ve learned from this awesome book, some musings on style and fashion. (Pick it up, friends.) Enjoy!
1. “Insist on yourself. Never imitate.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
2. Your personal style can’t be mine. It can’t be Daphne Guinness, Jackie O., Sophia Coppola, Lauren Bacall or Michelle Obama. It can only be you.
3. Super-tough trends like oxford shoes, fedoras and head scarves can be hard to pull off. If it’s not you, you’ll know. Let it go. Find something else. Tread carefully.
